When travelling, it is important to be aware that in order to enter certain countries, you must meet the conditions required by that country. The set of documents varies, which is why we prepared an explanation of visas and electronic travel documents necessary for UK. The Uk newly introduced the ETA, a digital document that is required for all visitors to enter the country. An ETA is not a VISA, but it is a mandatory document of entry. It allows multiple visits for up to 6 months within a two-year period, or until the passport’s expiry. This year, the UK introduced a digital document called ETA – Electronic Travel Authorisation. ETA is compulsory for all visitors who do not need a visa to enter. Due to the existing immigration and migration system, the digital document is a prerequisite for entry to the UK.

PRICE: ETA is a chargeable document and costs £ 16.

INTRODUCTION: The electronic ETA was introduced on 1 April 2025.

VALIDITY: The ETA document is valid for two years from the date of issue, or until the end of the validity of your passport – if it expires earlier.

NECESSITY: You will need an ETA document if you do not have a UK-issued VISA. You will also need a digital ETA Document if you are in transit. ETA is not relevant for British nationals and people with settled status in the UL (Settlement Scheme).

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: To obtain a digital document, you’ll need a valid passport, a digital photo of facial features, basic personal information. You will also need to answer certain security questions.
